Lessons for Final Cut Pro X App Reviews

The content and delivery of the training is superb. If you are new to FCP or a seasoned pro looking to learn about the new features, workflow, and interface of FCPX look no further. Excellent work guys! My rating would have been 5 stars, however the app is horrendous. It crashes constantly - when trying to switch videos by selecting from the menu, when a video ends, or when switching applications to FCP to apply what I’ve learned. Please fix this as soon as you can - it’s putting a bruise on an otherwise stellar product. I’m working with a 2.5 GHz i7 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB graphics card, and do not have any similar problems with other video applications.

I’ve watched a majority of the training put out by Ripple Training. These guys are top-notch, and you will learn some very valuable tips. The training is extremely well organized, and you can quickly navigate to a specific topic, or you can watch them straight through. I reference them often in my work. I would highly recommend these videos if you are wanting to leverage the full power of FCPX. Check out their Motion tutorials, too.

I recently switched from Windows to Mac, and I’m learning FCPX. I’d bought a book, which is pretty slow going, and I’d tagged some YouTube videos, some of which were pretty good, and some not. I stumbled across this app by accident in the App Store and decided to give it a go. The app, is, as one would expect, a collection of video tutorials. They are well-organized and cover a surprising amount of the UI, features, and workflow of FCPX, all in a couple of hours. I was an experienced Premiere Pro editor, which was a two-edged sword. On the one hand, I have a fair amount of non-linear editing experience; but on the other hand, FCPX does things very differently from FCPX. The videos got me up to speed very quickly. I like the fact that it’s an app, rather than just a folder full of QuickTime video—I have added the app to my dock for quick reference over the next several weeks, while I get used to the system. The videos are more or less bite-size chunks that lend themselves to that approach. The price is right, and the content is solid and well-organized. I can recommend the app witout reservation. Follow-up: Having worked my way through most of the tutorials, I remain impressed by this app. It has covered most of what I need to know to use FCP X productively. Nice job, and I can enthusiastically recommend it.

Everything about this video series is extremely professional, and straight to the point. I was fairly confident with my editing abilities before watching this series—I have been editing for years now—but I feel much more comfortable with everything after watching. Kind of like finding a side road that takes you to your goal faster, after taking the same road for years! Highly recommended!

After purchasing FCPX and muddling around on my own I decided to check out this app that so many had recommended online. After watching the first video I dropped $9.99 and bought the whole package. I used FCP from version 2 up to 6, and this is completely different. These videos helped tremendously. And I had more than a few “a-ha” moments, with techniques and tricks that I never would have found on my own. After I’m done with these I plan on buying the Motion package. Thanks for all the help!
